Curriculum

2024 MMKP Curriculum

  1. Management System = Semi-block system (SKS system that is managed thematically per semester)
  2. Implementation of study concentration = The concentration system is removed, focusing on shaping the competencies of three graduate profiles: policy analysts, policy scientists, and policy advocates.
  3. Study load = 67 credits equivalent to 120 ECTS (1 credit = 45 hours / semester), (5 basic compulsory courses; 5 core compulsory courses; 2 special courses; Internship; Final Project)
  4. Forms of learning activities = Lectures, project-based learning, and training are held systematically and managed in an integrated manner in each semester.

Curriculum Excellence

  1. Implementation of Project Based Learning through Semi Block System

Emphasizing project-based or case-based learning model as the main learning strategy for each course.

  1. Internship as a Form of Systematic ‘Independent Learning’

Output-based learning activities in the form of ‘academic work legacy’ of student groups through determining the focus of study, research management, and flexible writing.

  1. Institutionalization of Various Forms of Final Project

The student’s final project can take the form of a thesis (academic oriented) or policypaper (practical oriented) which weighs 13 credits.

  1. Skills Training is Part of the Curriculum

Most courses are supported by training programs that are relevant to the formation of student competencies and skills..

  1. Presenting a More Inclusive Curriculum

The implementation of learning programs is directed to form competencies & expertise in three interrelated graduate professional fields.

  1. Redefinition of Learning Activities

Lecture (lectures and discussions) which are only held 7-10 session, the rest are project-based learning and technical skills training.

  1. Strengthening the Role of Tutors

Tutors will be selected and trained to effectively manage project-based or case-basedlearning.

Learning Activities

Lectures

  • Lecture and discussion
  • Review of theories, concepts, and empirical practices
  • 14 hours (7 sessions @2 hours)

Project-based learning

  • Group assignments or class projects, including field research, advocacy, data collection & analysis, writing policy documents, etc.
  • 93-107 hours

Training

  • Practical competency training
  • 1 MK is supported by 1-2 training programs
  • 1 training program is organized for 14 hours (7 sessions @ 2 hours)
  • Synchronous & asynchronous learning

Courses

1st Semester

Examines public problems and mechanisms for its management by government and non-government institutions. Basic Compulsory Courses:

2nd Semester

Solving public problems through public policy instruments. Core Compulsory Courses:

3rd Semester

Strengthening the capacity of future policy analysts, scientists, and advocates through learning by practices in the real-world public policy ecosystem. 

4th Semester

Strengthening academic and practical contributions in the field of public policy.
