The Master’s Program in Public Policy and Management (MPPM) at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Gadjah Mada, has been a pioneer in public policy education in Indonesia since 1982. With an updated curriculum designed to address contemporary challenges, MPPM is committed to producing graduates with exceptional competencies as policy analysts, policy scientists, and policy advocates.
MPPM graduates are equipped not only with broad knowledge and global competitiveness but also with the readiness to lead policy changes across various strategic sectors. These competencies enable graduates to make meaningful contributions within government, corporations, state-owned enterprises, NGOs, and international organizations, driving positive change through impactful policies that benefit society and the global environment. Among the eight master’s programs in Indonesia bearing the term “public policy” in their names, MPPM is the first—and currently the only— program to confer a specialized degree in public policy, awarding graduates the specific title of “Master of Public Policy”.
The 2024 MPPM curriculum is designed to integrate theory and practice, employing project- and case-based learning approaches that address contemporary public policy challenges. Students are not only provided with a deep understanding of theories and concepts relevant to public policy, but are also trained to analyze, research, and manage strategic issues, as well as advocate for policy changes that benefit the public. Through this curriculum, MPPM ensures that every graduate is equipped with practical skills that align with industry demands, enabling them to actively contribute to the development of sustainable and impactful policy solutions.
Since its establishment, the MPPM has consistently maintained an A rating in the five-year accreditation evaluations conducted by the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT). In 2024, MPPM earned the prestigious “Excellent” accreditation from BAN-PT and is currently undergoing the international accreditation process with FIBAA.
