The Master of Public Policy and Management (MMKP) Study Program is a rigorous two-year program designed to prepare each graduate to be able to think critically about various public policy issues and its management. In this program, students are equipped with analytical and critical skills that can be applied in academic career fields as well as policy analysts in public organizations.
MMKP is the oldest public policy study program in Indonesia, established in 1982 under the name of Master of State Administration Science (IAN) Study Program which has been developing since 1957 (under the name of State Business Department). In its development, the name of the study program changed to Master of Management and Public Policy Study Program in 2010. This was done to open a wider scope of graduate profiles, not only focusing on preparing and developing human resources in the public bureaucracy, but also in the fields of government and private corporations; NGOs and global institutions; as well as research institutions and universities.
Since its establishment, MMKP has always obtained grade A in the 5-year accreditation assessment conducted by the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT). MMKP graduates will hold the academic title of Master of Public Policy (MPP), and of all of eight master’s programs that use the name ‘public policy’ in Indonesia, MMKP is the first and currently the only one that provides a more specific degree in the field of public policy.
