The Department of Management and Public Policy (DMKP) at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Gadjah Mada (Fisipol UGM), held a session as part of the PIONIR Society Fisipol UGM 2024 series of activities. This event aimed to introduce new DMKP students to the academic environment they will encounter during their studies. The session took place on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at Digilib Lt.2 Fisipol UGM.
The session began with an introduction to the DMKP lecturers who will guide the new students throughout their studies at DMKP UGM. This was followed by an overview of the DMKP curriculum. New students were given a brief overview of the courses they will study each semester.
Next, the introduction to the academic environment explained various academic activities that students will face during their studies, such as regular learning, community service (KKN), the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program, and activities within the International Undergraduate Program (IUP) such as international exposure and collaborations with domestic and international universities. New students were encouraged to see the opportunities and benefits of participating in these programs. The session concluded with an interactive Q&A session, where new students had the opportunity to ask about IISMA and various other topics discussed during the session.
With this session, it is hoped that the new DMKP UGM 2024 students can start their academic journey with more confidence and a clear understanding of what they will face during their studies at DMKP Fisipol UGM.
